Bariatric Surgery

For when surgery genuinely is the right option

Coming soon WhatsApp

Coming soon، This department is being staffed and its doctor will be announced shortly. The medical information on this page is accurate and useful now. If you need to ask about this condition, message us on WhatsApp and we will point you to the right specialty.

Bariatric surgery is not the first step, and it is not suitable for every case. At La Rose, we begin with an assessment of the degree of obesity, associated conditions, treatment history, and physical and psychological readiness. If non-surgical options are suitable for your case, we will tell you clearly and refer you to the weight-management department. If surgery is the most suitable option, the difference lies in the preparation and follow-up afterwards, not in the operation itself.

Conditions we treat

  • Severe obesity (BMI 40 and above)
  • Obesity with associated conditions (diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnoea)
  • Repeated failed attempts at weight loss
  • Follow-up after bariatric surgery
  • Correcting complications of previous procedures
  • Therapeutic nutrition before and after surgery

Eligibility assessment

The step that decides whether surgery is the answer at all

The assessment covers your BMI, an InBody body-composition analysis, a review of your labs and treatment history, an evaluation of associated conditions, and your readiness to follow the post-operative instructions, because that is precisely what determines long-term success.

Sleeve gastrectomy

Reducing the stomach's size laparoscopically

A large part of the stomach is removed to reduce its volume, so the amount eaten falls and the hunger hormone drops. It is done laparoscopically through small incisions. The procedure is less complex than a bypass, and the expected result is substantial and rapid, but it remains dependent on following the dietary instructions afterwards.

Post-operative nutrition and follow-up

The part that decides whether the operation succeeds

The operation shrinks the stomach, but on its own it is not a definitive cure for obesity. Afterwards you need a measured progression from liquids to soft food to normal eating, monitoring of vitamins and minerals, and a protein plan that protects your muscle mass. This is what prevents both weight regain and malnutrition, and it is done here alongside the clinical nutrition department.
