Paediatrics at La Rose covers routine growth monitoring, vaccination and common childhood illnesses. It also works alongside the nutrition department for cases that need a specialised nutrition plan, including underweight children, childhood obesity, poor appetite and food allergy.
Against standard growth charts, not by impression
Weight, height and head circumference measured and plotted on standard growth charts, so we can see whether the child is following their own normal trajectory, not a comparison with another child. It is deviation from the curve that warrants investigation, not the number itself.

Intense fear of weight gain with restriction or falling weight deserves early assessment for a possible eating disorder. Talk about health and energy without argument or blame, and seek paediatric, mental health and nutrition support. Fainting, chest pain, dehydration or thoughts of self-harm is an emergency.
